Wij zijn
Een pop-up platform voor XL kunstwerken en enorme designobjecten van gevestigde namen en opkomende talenten. Elk jaar strijkt BIG ART neer in een bijzonder gebouw in of rond Amsterdam waar tientallen galeries en kunstenaars de ruimtes vullen met een unieke mix van monumentale schilderijen en tekeningen, grote sculpturen en foto’s, betoverende lichtkunstwerken en indrukwekkende interactieve installaties. Te kijk en te koop!
Ons Verhaal
BIG ART is een initiatief van Anne van der Zwaag, directeur en eigenaar van designfair OBJECT Rotterdam. Anne is cultureel ondernemer en als curator, publicist en consultant werkzaam in het creatieve en commerciële veld. Zij stelde grote tentoonstellingen samen als Must See (Zuiderzeemuseum), Pastoe (Kunsthal), WIT (Nederlands Fotomuseum) en BAL! (Paleis Soestdijk) en schrijft boeken over design, kunst, mode, architectuur en kleur. Onze organisatie en ons platform wordt niet gefinancierd door culturele fondsen of commerciële sponsoren en alle inkomsten uit verkoop en/of opdrachten gaan voor 100% naar de deelnemers. BIG ART werd in 2016 gestart en wordt jaarlijks georganiseerd.

A pop-up platform for XL artworks and huge design objects, brought to you by a blend of established galleries, artists and designers as well as upcoming talents. Every year BIG ART occupies a special building in or around Amsterdam where dozens of galleries, artists and designers fill the place with a unique mix of monumental paintings and drawings, large sculptures and photographs, mesmerizing lightart and impressive interactive installations. On show, and for sale!
Our Story
BIG ART is an initiative of Anne van der Zwaag, director and owner of designfair OBJECT Rotterdam. Anne works as a curator, writer and consultant in the creative as well as the commercial industries. She created large interdisciplinary exhibitions such as Must See (Zuiderzeemuseum), BAL! (Paleis Soestdijk), WIT (Nederlands Fotomuseum), PASTOE (Kunsthal) and wrote several publications on design, art, fashion, architecture and colour. Our organisation and platform is not financed by cultural funds or commercial sponsors and all income out of sales or assignments goes 100% to the participants. BIG ART originated in 2016 and is organised yearly.
